Kwikstage Scaffolding is a scaffolding system centered around a first-generation node-based upright, featuring wedge-lock fasteners at connection points to enable rapid assembly of uprights, horizontal members, and diagonal braces. All joints requiring welding are pre-fabricated in the factory, eliminating the need for time-consuming on-site welding and eliminating the need for bolts, thereby enabling rapid assembly.
Kwikstage Scaffolding perfectly applies the principles of wedge mechanics, ensuring that connection points remain secure under load and enhancing the overall safety of the system.
An ideal scaffolding system requires not only rapid and safe installation but also high-quality tubing. As a steel tube manufacturer, ALLLAND can pre-manufacture the Kwikstage Scaffolding system for you, ensuring that all tubing meets specifications. Below, we will detail the performance parameters of the Kwikstage Scaffolding system and its tubing. Please contact us if you have any inquiries.

The Kwikstage Scaffolding system originated in Australia, based on the principles of safety, efficiency, and reusability. Consequently, this type of scaffolding requires a more flexible and demountable system, and there are strict requirements for the pipes used. Below is a brief introduction to the features of Kwikstage Scaffolding and the characteristics of the pipes used.
These are the primary load-bearing members of the system. The pipe diameter is typically 48.3 mm, with joint spacing of 500 mm to 600 mm. The overall stability of the scaffolding system depends on the weld quality at these joints. They are one of the most critical components.
These connect the uprights to form a horizontal framework, stabilizing work platforms or load-bearing platforms and transferring the load to the ground. The pipes used for crossbars must be equipped with
wedge-shaped locking heads to enable quick installation. Common crossbar lengths range from 0.9 to 2.5 meters; after installation, the crossbars must be tightened to ensure system safety.
These components work in conjunction with crossbars. The spacing between crossbars must be 1.2 meters or less to ensure load-bearing capacity and prevent accidents.
These components prevent the scaffolding from swaying, creating a stable triangular structure. They must be installed at an angle between 45 and 60 degrees. This component is essential and cannot be omitted, as it is the primary element for resisting wind and lateral forces.
Base plates are components used to adjust the scaffolding and maintain its stability. They must have threaded connection ports to facilitate rapid assembly.
Notes:
1. Joint weld length must be ≥ 50 mm
2. Wedge lock insertion depth: 35–50 mm, to ensure a secure connection
3. Node Hole Diameter: Inner diameter approximately 48.3 mm ±0.2 mm
Kwikstage Scaffolding is constructed from high-quality structural steel, which ensures both high hardness and excellent weldability and toughness, enabling the scaffolding to withstand long-term outdoor use and be reused.
Q235 Structural Steel
Yield Strength: 235 MPa
Tensile Strength: 370–500 MPa
Suitable for light-duty or medium-duty scaffolding
Q355 Structural Steel
Yield Strength: 355 MPa
Tensile Strength: 470–630 MPa
Features high strength and load-bearing capacity, suitable for high-rise buildings
Due to outdoor use, Kwikstage Scaffolding pipes require surface corrosion protection to prevent rust and ensure long-term durability.
Hot-dip galvanizing
Zinc coating thickness: 60–80 μm
Suitable for high-humidity or coastal environments.
Service life: approximately 10–15 years.
Spray Coating or Powder Coating
Thickness: 50–70 μm
Suitable for indoor environments or settings requiring minimal corrosion protection.
Available in a wide range of colors with high aesthetic appeal.
Paint Coating
Used in situations requiring temporary corrosion protection.
Corrosion resistance is slightly lower than that of hot-dip galvanizing.
Construction Industry
Kwikstage Scaffolding is most widely used in the construction industry, where it is essential for high-rise construction, exterior wall construction and maintenance, and support systems. Its rapid assembly, high stability, and reusability make it a popular choice.
Industrial Maintenance
Kwikstage Scaffolding is well-suited for the demanding environments of industrial equipment maintenance and petrochemical operations. Its high-strength steel ensures safety during high-altitude work and withstands high-temperature and corrosive conditions.
Infrastructure
Bridge construction and tunnel projects, characterized by large structural spans and complex terrain, require scaffolding with high load-bearing capacity that can accommodate medium-scale construction operations.
1. Steel Selection
High-quality structural steel is used, with strict control over the content of elements such as C, Mn, and Si in the raw materials, and material certificates are provided.
2. Pipe Cutting
Fully automated equipment is used for pipe cutting, with length tolerances controlled within standard limits. Cutting does not affect the performance or outer diameter of the pipes, ensuring assembly precision.
3. Weld Inspection
Non-destructive testing and weld inspections are conducted to ensure that the welds maintain the same performance as the base material.
4. Prefabrication
The factory performs prefabrication, pre-welding, and assembly of complete units, which are then packaged and shipped. This reduces on-site sorting time and improves work efficiency.
