ALLLAND manufacture structural steel pipes in accordance with the AS/NZS 1163 C250 standard. These pipes are widely used in building structures, bridges, machinery, and solar mounting systems. With solid strength and good toughness, C250 grade is well suited for general structural and welding applications.
Our product range includes square, rectangular, and round pipes in various sizes. We also offer cut-to-length service, surface treatments such as hot-dip galvanizing and coating, as well as custom production based on your project requirements. AS/NZS 1163 C250 is a low-strength steel grade specified in the Australian/New Zealand standard for cold-formed structural steel hollow sections. With a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa, it is suitable for round, square, and rectangular tubes. It offers excellent weldability and is widely used in the construction, mechanical, and general engineering sectors.

C250 is a low-carbon structural steel (C ≤ 0.22%), so it offers excellent weldability and reduces the risk of cold cracking.

The chemical composition specified in the standard is not a fixed formula but rather a set of limits. Manufacturers have a certain degree of flexibility during production; as long as the final product meets the mechanical performance requirements of the standard, the specific elemental ratios may be determined by the manufacturer. Therefore, in AS/NZS 1163, the limits on chemical composition are merely a means to an end, with the ultimate goal being to ensure mechanical performance.




C250 is the lowest strength grade in AS 1163 and also the most cost-effective. C250 offers excellent weldability and is suitable for cold bending, cutting, and punching, with good formability.
It is suitable for general engineering structures and lightweight applications that do not require high strength but demand structural stability.
Due to its lower strength, C250 is not suitable for heavy-load structures or long-span structures.

C250L0: The “L0” designation indicates that this material is guaranteed to meet impact toughness standards at 0°C, making it suitable for applications requiring impact resistance in low-temperature environments.
“Equivalent Grades” do not refer to materials that are strictly identical, but rather to grades with similar performance characteristics.
