SS Pipe Full Form

SS pipe full form is Stainless Steel Pipe.

Within the steel pipe industry, SS pipe refers to stainless steel pipes. Stainless steel constitutes a significant category of steel pipes, essential for corrosion-resistant or food-grade transportation applications. Stainless steel contains ≤0.08% carbon and typically undergoes low-carbon treatment. Its primary elements include high chromium (Cr ≥ 10.5%), high nickel (Ni 8–10%), and optional molybdenum (Mo). It naturally forms a passive film, making it resistant to rust.

Common stainless steel pipes include: 304/316 austenitic stainless steel; 430 ferritic stainless steel; 410/420 martensitic stainless steel; and duplex stainless steel.

Standards: ASTM A312, ASTM A213, ASTM A269, EN 10216 / EN 10217, JIS G3459 / G3463

Stainless steel pipes offer high strength, high toughness, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and excellent machinability. They find particularly widespread application in the food industry.
