High-Performance Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Steel Pipes for Long-Term Corrosion Protection
Applied by electrostatic fusion and high-temperature curing, FBE Steel Pipe forms a durable epoxy barrier with exceptional adhesion, impact resistance, and cathodic protection performance. Designed for oil, gas, water, and chemical transmission systems, it ensures over 30 years of reliable anti-corrosion service in harsh environments.
Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating is applied through electrostatic spraying and cured at 200–250 °C to create a seamless, corrosion-resistant layer.
Provides excellent adhesion, impact, and cathodic disbondment resistance—ideal for buried, marine, and industrial pipelines.
Applicable for oil, gas, water, and chemical transport lines with a service temperature range of −40 °C to 100 °C.
Available with single- or dual-layer systems on LSAW, SSAW, or ERW substrate pipes meeting API 5L and ASTM A53/A106 standards.
FBE STEEL PIPE — Reliable Fusion-Bonded Epoxy Protection System
- Fusion-bonded epoxy coating applied by electrostatic spraying and cured at high temperature (200–250°C).
- Creates a uniform, tightly bonded barrier providing outstanding corrosion and cathodic disbondment resistance.
- Excellent impact and chemical resistance, suitable for buried, marine, and industrial service environments.
- Compatible with LSAW, SSAW, and ERW substrate pipes for oil, gas, and water transmission systems.
Description
FBE steel pipe uses a fusion-bonded epoxy coating applied by electrostatic spraying and cured at 200–250 °C. The process creates a dense, chemically bonded film that forms a continuous corrosion-resistant barrier tightly adhered to the steel surface.
The coating provides outstanding adhesion, impact resistance, and cathodic disbondment protection under demanding soil and temperature conditions. It prevents moisture or ion penetration, ensuring long-term reliability in oil, gas, water, and chemical pipelines—both buried and offshore.
Each pipe undergoes automated blasting, pre-heating, and electrostatic coating with precise temperature control to ensure uniform thickness and consistent bonding strength across all diameters.
- Excellent corrosion and chemical resistance.
- High mechanical strength and surface hardness.
- Service temperature range −40 °C – 100 °C.
- Complies with ISO 21809-2 · CSA Z245.20 · NACE RP0394 standards.

Production Process
The FBE coating process includes surface blasting, pre-heating, electrostatic powder application, and high-temperature curing. The fusion-bonded epoxy melts and cross-links to form a uniform, strongly adhered layer that provides durable corrosion and impact protection for buried and subsea pipelines.
Main Applications
FBE steel pipes are widely used in oil, gas, water, and industrial pipeline systems requiring long-term corrosion protection. Their fusion-bonded epoxy coating provides excellent adhesion and chemical resistance, ensuring durable performance in buried, marine, and above-ground installations.
Oil & Gas Pipelines
Applied in crude oil, natural gas, and fuel transmission lines where corrosion resistance and coating integrity are essential for safe, long-distance operation.
Water Transmission & Utilities
Used for potable water, cooling, and desalination systems to prevent rust contamination and maintain pipeline cleanliness.
Chemical & Industrial Systems
Ideal for chemical plants, refineries, and industrial fluid transport exposed to aggressive or corrosive media.
Offshore & Subsea Pipelines
Provides long-lasting protection against seawater, pressure fluctuations, and mechanical impact in marine environments.
Infrastructure & Energy Projects
Used in buried or exposed pipeline networks within power generation, municipal, and construction projects requiring durable anti-corrosion coatings.
Advantages
- Corrosion Protection: FBE coating forms an impermeable, tightly bonded layer that blocks moisture and chemicals from reaching the steel surface.
- Excellent Adhesion: Fusion bonding and high-temperature curing ensure strong chemical bonding and minimal cathodic disbondment.
- Mechanical Durability: Resistant to impact and abrasion during handling, transportation, and installation.
- Wide Temperature Range: Reliable performance from −40 °C to 100 °C across various service environments.
- Standard Compliance: Conforms to ISO 21809-2, CAN/CSA Z245.20, and NACE RP0394 international standards.
Packing & Transportation
FBE steel pipes are carefully packaged to prevent coating damage during loading and transit. Each pipe is fitted with protective end caps, separated by soft spacers, and securely wrapped to maintain surface integrity and stability throughout shipping.
- Bundle or Frame Packing: Pipes are grouped with steel straps or wooden frames, using protective pads to prevent coating contact and abrasion.
- Container Shipping: Recommended for pipe lengths up to 6 m and small to medium project quantities, ensuring safe delivery and easy unloading.
- Bulk Vessel Transport: Suitable for large-diameter or long-length FBE steel pipes, supported by wooden saddles and multilayer wrapping to avoid deformation or coating impact.
