Galvanized Pipe

Pre-galvanized pipe are steel tubes that undergo surface zinc coating treatment. Before forming the steel tubes, the material undergoes continuous hot-dip galvanizing, creating a zinc layer on the surface. Subsequent processes such as welding are then performed. This galvanizing treatment effectively enhances the corrosion resistance of steel pipes, extends their service life, and finds widespread application in industries including construction, transportation, and power. During production, the zinc coating is primarily formed through either cold-galvanizing or hot-dip galvanizing processes. This coating bonds tightly to the steel substrate, delivering outstanding corrosion protection.

Pre-galvanized Pipe Manufactured by ALLLAND

Through precise galvanizing processes, our pre-galvanized pipes feature uniformly coated surfaces that effectively prevent corrosion from air, moisture, and other environmental factors. This makes them particularly suitable for long-term use in humid or harsh conditions. The galvanized layer offers enhanced oxidation resistance, significantly extending the pipes’ service life.
Modern cold-drawing and hot-rolling techniques, combined with high-precision galvanizing technology, ensure smooth and uniform pipe surfaces. Rigorous quality inspections guarantee each pre-galvanized pipe meets industry standards upon shipment, eliminating defects or flaws.
Our company implements comprehensive quality monitoring throughout the entire production process, from raw material procurement to finished product shipment. Each stage is strictly controlled to ensure products comply with international standards and customer requirements. Every batch of pre-galvanized pipes undergoes multiple inspections, including outer diameter, wall thickness, and galvanized coating thickness, to guarantee no defective products enter the market.

Continuous Hot-Dip Galvanizing
This process involves passing steel strips or coils through a continuous molten zinc bath after cleaning and annealing, firmly adhering zinc to the surface. Its advantages include uniform zinc coating, stable surface properties, and suitability for mass production. Compared to hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, this method is more appropriate for thin-walled, small-to-medium diameter pipes.
High-Frequency Resistance Welding
Pre-galvanized steel coils are welded into tubular shapes using high-frequency resistance welding. The weld seam exhibits high strength, with properties approaching those of the base material. The process delivers excellent appearance, dimensional consistency, and suitability for continuous production.
Zinc Coating Control
Inspection procedures are integrated throughout the production process, including: dimensional tolerance checks, weld seam quality assessments, and zinc coating adhesion tests. Only pipes meeting quality standards are delivered to customers.

Zinc Coating Thickness Standards for Pre-Galvanized Pipes

• Small-diameter pipes (< 1 inch): Zinc coating thickness typically ranges between 45-75 microns.

• Medium-diameter pipes (1 inch – 4 inches): Zinc coating thickness generally ranges between 50-85 microns.
• Large-diameter pipes (>4 inches): Zinc coating thickness is typically between 65-100 microns.

FAQ

Can pre-galvanized pipes withstand high temperatures?

The zinc coating on pre-galvanized pipes may oxidize or melt at high temperatures, resulting in lower heat resistance compared to hot-dip galvanized pipes. Hot-dip galvanized pipes exhibit more stable performance in high-temperature environments. Therefore, hot-dip galvanized pipes are recommended for high-temperature or highly corrosive conditions.

The lifespan of pre-galvanized pipes depends on their environment and usage conditions. In standard non-corrosive environments, they typically last 15-30 years. In harsh conditions (such as highly industrial corrosive settings), their lifespan may shorten. Maintaining clean pipes and performing regular inspections and maintenance can extend their service life.

Pre-galvanized pipes are steel pipes that undergo zinc coating immersion before production to form a zinc layer. This process typically employs electroplating or hot-dip coating methods. Hot-dip galvanized pipes, however, involve immersing steel pipes in molten zinc at high temperatures to create a thicker zinc layer. Hot-dip galvanized pipes generally feature a thicker zinc coating, offering superior corrosion resistance and suitability for harsher environments, while pre-galvanized pipes are appropriate for standard conditions.
