Hot-Rolled Seamless Pipe is a type of seamless steel pipe produced through a high-temperature hot-rolling process. Its manufacturing involves heating the billet above its crystallization temperature, followed by piercing, rolling, and sizing in a single continuous operation without welding. This results in a pipe with a continuous, seamless structure free from weld defects.
Compared to welded steel pipes, hot-rolled seamless pipes offer superior pressure-bearing capacity, enhanced structural integrity, and more stable mechanical properties. They are particularly suited for high-pressure, high-temperature, heavy-load, and demanding operating conditions, making them a critical piping material in industries such as petroleum, natural gas, boilers, power generation, and machinery manufacturing.

Hot Rolling Seamless Pipe Manufactured by ALLLAND
Raw Material Selection → Heating → Piercing → Hot Rolling/Drawing → Sizing/Reducing → Heat Treatment → Straightening and Cutting
This process differs significantly from cold-drawn seamless tubes. Hot rolling is more suitable for large-diameter and thick-walled tubes, offering lower costs; cold drawing achieves higher dimensional accuracy but has limited specifications. Below is a flowchart of the cold-drawn process.
Pipe Preparation (typically hot-rolled seamless tubes) — Pickling — Phosphating/Lubrication — Cold Drawing — Intermediate Annealing — Sizing — Cutting and Inspection
In the hot rolling process, heating to 1100-1250°C effectively reduces steel deformation rates and enhances plasticity. This facilitates smoother subsequent high-temperature piercing. The hot rolling step involves multiple high-temperature rolling passes of the billet to achieve the required dimensions. This is a critical aspect of the hot rolling process. It reduces residual stresses in the pipe and promotes a more uniform metal structure.

While the dimensional accuracy of hot-rolled seamless steel pipes is not as high as cold-drawn pipes, it fully complies with international engineering standards and is particularly suitable for:
We strictly control outer diameter, wall thickness, and ovality according to ASTM / EN / API / GB standards and conduct full-dimension inspection before shipment.
For projects with extremely stringent dimensional tolerance requirements, we can also:
Our company manufactures boiler tubes with an outer diameter (O.D.) range of 12.7 mm to 508 mm. The application scenarios, materials, and inspection methods vary for different sizes. Below is a detailed introduction to the specific applications of boiler tubes in different sizes.
Oil and Gas Industry
Used for high-pressure fluid transmission pipelines
Machinery Manufacturing Industry
Used for shafts, hydraulic cylinder barrels
Construction and Structural Engineering
Applied in steel structures, bridges.
Chemical and Power Industries
Suitable for transporting high-temperature .
Boiler and Heat Exchanger Systems
Suitable for high-temperature steam transportation
The pressure rating of hot-rolled seamless steel pipes primarily depends on the outer diameter, wall thickness, material grade, and applicable standards.
Generally, under identical outer diameter conditions, thicker walls and higher steel grades yield greater pressure ratings.
For common specifications:
For high-pressure, high-temperature, or hazardous media applications (e.g., steam, oil/gas), we typically recommend:
We can also assist in calculating the most suitable specifications based on your design pressure and operating parameters to avoid over-specifying or safety risks.

For buyers, assessing quality reliability focuses on the following key aspects:
1. Raw Material Source
2. Production Process
3. Comprehensive Inspection Items
4. Completeness of quality documentation
All our Hot Rolling Seamless Pipes support third-party inspections (e.g., SGS, BV, TÜV) to ensure buyer confidence.
With proper selection and appropriate operating conditions, the service life of hot rolled seamless pipes typically exceeds 20–30 years.
