ASTM A795

Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe is a specialized steel water pipe used in building fire protection systems. It primarily connects fire sprinkler equipment to the fire water supply system, serving to regulate the distribution of firefighting water and control water pressure. Therefore, Sprinkler Steel Pipe must possess adequate pressure-bearing capacity and stability to function reliably within fire protection systems over extended periods.

Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe Manufactured by ALLLAND

The ERW process utilizes high-frequency resistance welding, effectively minimizing pipe tolerances to precisely match threaded or grooved connections, thereby reducing construction time.
Surface treatment processes are well-established, particularly hot-dip galvanizing, which delivers uniform coating thickness meeting specifications. This effectively isolates corrosive elements.
Manufactured strictly according to standards and requirements, with factory-prefabricated pipe end forms eliminating secondary fabrication hassles.

Differences Between Fire Sprinkler Pipes and Ordinary Water Pipes

Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe and ordinary water pipes both serve the function of conveying water, but Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe are not merely for transporting water—they must absolutely remain functional during critical moments. Therefore, their manufacturing processes differ fundamentally.

First: Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe production must adhere to strict fire safety standards, which ordinary steel pipes cannot meet.
Second: Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe must ensure a long service life and remain immediately responsive even after prolonged periods of static storage. This necessitates specific requirements for sediment resistance, pipe wall integrity, and material quality.
Finally: Fire Sprinkler Pipes must possess sufficient pressure-bearing capacity to withstand significant pressure and impact forces during the instantaneous activation of fire response systems.

Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe Standards and Certifications

Fire systems are lifelines, demanding strict compliance with regulatory standards. Comprehensive fire pipe standards exist globally, including: ASTM A795/ ASTM A53/ ISO 9001/ UL/FM, among others. These standards continuously safeguard our safety. Below are common standards for fire sprinkler pipes. Contact us for any requirements.

Applicable Standards

ASTM A795 - Specification for Fire Sprinkler Pipe

This is currently the most widely adopted and comprehensively defined international standard. It explicitly specifies piping dedicated to fire sprinkler systems, applicable for: Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Water Lines, and Fire Riser Systems.
The standard also stipulates pipe strength and toughness requirements, suitable for long-term static conditions in fire protection systems. Surface galvanization is explicitly mandated to withstand prolonged exposure to humid environments.

ASTM A53 - General Purpose Steel Pipe Specification

Pipes meeting this standard may be used for fire sprinkler systems under certain conditions. Note: This is not a fire-specific standard. Manufacturing to this specification requires strict adherence to project documentation.

ASTM A135 - Low and Medium Pressure System Pipe Specification

Pipes produced to this standard typically serve auxiliary roles in fire protection systems and are not intended for primary fire protection systems or main fire risers.

International Certification Systems

UL Certification

UL certification is a highly authoritative third-party fire pipe certification in North America, widely applied in buildings, commercial facilities, and fire protection systems. This certification not only regulates pipe manufacturing processes, dimensions, and materials but also mandates compliance with factory quality management systems. Pipes bearing this certification are therefore qualified for fire protection applications.

FM Certification

M certification targets premium commercial and industrial piping systems, emphasizing long-term operational safety, overall system reliability, and risk management capabilities.

In high-demand piping systems, both FM and UL certifications are typically required concurrently.
